The Papago Park
Archery Range is located on the Northwest corner of 64th street and McDowell
road in Phoenix, AZ. The range is just west of the softball fields.
We practice every Saturday Morning (except for special events) and practice
is open to both club members and non-members. Hours are; 8am to 12pm Oct. thru
May and 7:30 to 11:00am June thru Sept. If
this is your first time, we ask that you come 15 minute early for paperwork.
Lessons are 1 hour only and go until 9:00. Please be on time. Because of the
time restraints we cannot accept new archers after 8:00.
The range
is marked in meters and yards. During practice the range is run by certified NAA
Instructors for safety. Range rules are determined by the instructors based on
range conditions.
52" foam target butts on wood stands are used during
Saturday practices and all FITA/JOAD distances and target faces are available.
Hay bales on metal stands are set-up for daily use by the City of Phoenix Parks
and Recreation Department. The Papago FITA Archers assist with the maintenance of the range.
There are no park or range fees and club
membership is not required. Club donations are accepted.
